AUGUST ISSUE 2006

Young, hungry and Blue!

All three of Blues’ new ‘Young, hungry and Blue’ players are interviewed in this month’s BLUES Magazine which is in the shops this week.
Stephen Kelly, Neil Danns and Cameron Jerome are all featured, along with new centre back, Bruno N’Gotty.

Neil Danns says “I didn’t come here to sit on the bench. My intention is to score goals from central midfield and do what I’m good at and make it hard for Steve Bruce to leave me out of the team.”

In another exclusive interview, Stephen Kelly says the whole squad is ‘up for the challenge’ and believes Blues are strong enough to go straight back up. “I think with the squad we have, we’re more than capable of making a quick return to the Premiership.”
And we found Cameron Jerome and Bruno N’Gotty in equally optimistic moods as we caught up with the players before they flew out to Spain for the pre-season tour.

“I’m excited about the forthcoming season,” said N’Gotty. “The club was unlucky to go down last year, but I think we have a very good coach in Steve Bruce who told me what he wants to achieve in the future, not just for this season but for the seasons ahead.”

There is also an exclusive interview with boss Steve Bruce who outlines his plans for the coming campaign. “I’m very very pleased with the squad we’ve got,” he said. “There’s a young freshness about the squad again...I still maintain that we’ve got a lot of players who can play in the Premier League and there’s not many teams in the Championship who can say that...We’re raring to go.”

The magazine also carries a double page fixture pullout, outlining the new season, and highlights the Top 20 Championship Players who you should watch out for in the coming months.

There is a profile of Blues’ new ‘Captain Marvel’ Damien Johnson, an interview with ‘Young Gun’, Ollie Allen, and posters of David Dunn (double page A3), Stephen Kelly and Neil Kilkenny.

We also interview ex-Blues centre back and ‘super agent’ Colin Gordon who is agent to England wonderkid Theo Walcott, England manager, Steve McLaren, as well as our own David Dunn and Mat Sadler. We find out what it’s like being a football agent and ask, is the cloak and danger image of football agents really deserved?

There’s news from Inside St. Andrew’s, a flashback to opening days of seasons past, the month in quotes, coming up and all your usual favourites.

All this for £2.95 from the Club shop or your local newsagent.
